ISB's middle school play 'Once Upon a Hutong' invites audiences on an enchanting odyssey into the heart of China. Set in Beijing during the Qing Dynasty, the play tells the story of an emperor's quest for love and his chosen maiden's journey of self-discovery. Written and directed by drama teacher Hannah Northcott, the play was a transformative experience for many students whose confidence grew throughout the creative, collaborative process.
